Good things!

For no reason whatsoever, my sister bought me 2000 Calories mascara and my favourite lip gloss, Silk Gloss, in a fabulous shade of peach! ♥ \o/ ♥

In other news, Mom went to her 3 week rehabilitation therapy thing to a thermal spa. Which means PRIVACY and ALONE TIME! Woooot! It also means cooking and cleaning and doing laundry and going shopping but... ALONE TIME!!!!!

And it's almost Advent so YAY! (Is it wrong to still want the Advent calendar with crappy tiny chocolates?)

Also, a very good thing is that all of the side effects are GONE and I'm feeling good. I'm SINGING all the time! Along with Lady Gaga, no less. LOL Sister's BF is threatening our lives when we burst into song simultaneously. We even take parts in duets! AND WE'RE HORRIBLE! LOLOLOLOL

Oh and a not so good thing: my stupid dog bit me. AGAIN! Like, scraped the skin off my finger and I BLED! And I was only going to pet him, FFS!

Just a perfect day, problems all left alone

Today my hair isn't stupid.

My sister, on the other hand...

So I'm watching Gilmore Girls and surprise!, there's Dean. Well, it wasn't much of a surprise since I only D/Led episodes with young Jared. Anyway. This convo ensues:

Sis: Dean! And it's our favourite one, too!

Me: Yeah, about that... *awkward pause* He was the only one.

Sis: What? No!

Me: Yeah.

Sis: Really?! You sure?

Me: *rolls eyes* From the pilot to season 5.

Sis: Huh.

I could totally tell she wasn't convinced. Well, I tried. From now on, this rat has left the failboat. She's on her own.

Tuesday, 7 April 2009

These things remind me of

Christel sent AJ, MT and me a Gilmore Girls fanvid of Rory and Dean because MT's been having Gilmore Girls marathons for a while now, and I'm almost done with Dark Angel so I'm gonna start with Gilmore Girls. Don't judge me, I'm pretty sure they're both legal in those.

ANYWAY.

When we first watched Gilmore Girls, my sister and I kinda sorta crushed on Dean. From his very first appearance on screen. She said, "Huh. This Dean is kinda cute." and I said, "Yep. Uh-huh." Since then, an episode without Dean was made of fail. Little did we know, so were we.

Because when Gilmore Girls returned for season 2 (or maybe it was 3, I cant really tell, it was a century ago), my sister said, "Oh noes! It's a different Dean!" and I said, "Oh noes! It is!" I have no idea why we thought it was a different guy. Was it the hair? Did he grow taller? I don't know. I just know we spent quite some time mourning the loss of the "cute Dean from the beginning". Because that one was, like, way prettier than the new one. I don't even know.

When we fail, we fail like a family, I guess.

So I was re-watching the first two episodes last night and I don't think my poor old heart can take it.
P.S. He may have been 17 at the time. *facepalm*

And they've been known to pick a song or two

A while ago my sister came to me with something that has been bugging her. Every morning, while she was at work, a certain radio station would play the same song. A familiar song, a song she sort of knew, but not really. She wanted to know what the song was. This was where I came in. But... Yes, there's a but. But she didn't know who sang it. She didn't know the title of the song. She didn't remember any of the lyrics. She couldn't even hum it.
"Wow," I said. "This won't be complicated at all."
But I didn't give up. I went to the said radio station's site and checked the most played charts. Let me tell you, I clicked on MANY songs. Many random songs that might've been the one she was looking for. Songs that were most often played, and then songs that were played a little less often. And then random songs you could listen to on the site.
None of the songs was THE song. Clearly, I ran out of options. Her only hope was to hear the song while we were together so she could point it out. It never happened.
That was a month, or two, or three ago. I forgot about it in the mean time.
Then, two nights ago a new show started on TV. "Croatia is looking for a star". You know, the Pop Idol thing. So we're watching it and there are candidates and there are judges and they sing and they talk, yadda yadda yadda, and then there's a montage of different candidates with a well know song playing in the background. At that moment my sister points to the TV and yells: "That's it! That's the song I was telling you about!" And I turn to her and I give her this incredulous look, and I can't believe she didn't know what the song was.
Because the song is Sweet Home Alabama.

Still I bleed

When I was 16 going on 17 we returned home. I never had a big circle of friends before, but somehow, in the next year I met a lot of people that had also returned home, just like we did, and we started hanging out. Suddenly I was out every Friday and Saturday with a group that varied from 8 to 15 people. And I loved it. The year between 17 and 18 has been the best year of my life. Suddenly, I mattered. people actually paid attention to me. I belonged. I had friends. I was one of them.
Then, my sister somehow started hanging out with us. My two and a half years younger sister. My gorgeous, friendly, charming baby sister. Before I knew it, she was the one that would get the text messages and I was the one tagging along. She was the one who started dating one of the guys, the one who confirmed her status in the group with that. I felt like I've been robbed. I felt like I've been kicked out. I didn't matter anymore. I was outshined.
One New Year's Eve we all went to a party as a group. Until it turned out that everyone had a pair except for me. After midnight all of my friends disappeared to make out or have sex or whatever, and I was left alone. I didn't want to go home because my Mom would ask about my sister and I couldn't say she was with her 5 years older boyfriend because it was a secret. So I sat at a bus station. In a dress. With my hair up. In high heels. In the early hours of the New year I sat at a bus station because all of my friends had abandoned me. The lowest point? A police car pulling over asking me if I was all right and if I needed a ride home.
Another memorable event was when a guy I liked, really liked, asked my sister to go out with him. And she considered it. It didn't matter how I felt, she was just trying to make that ex of hers jealous. At my expense.
Then she played match maker and set her best friend up with her boyfriend's best friend and slowly but steadily the group fell apart. I lost the best thing that I ever had because someone stole it away.
So yeah, I am needy. And I have issues.
The Internet came into my life bringing back that feeling of belonging. At WFW's I found a group of people that I had things in common with. People who laughed at my jokes. People who could cheer me up when I'd feel bad. People I shared things in my life with, easier than I could ever share them with people in real life. Once again, I belonged.
And then ~she~ (not my sister, obviously) showed up and swooped my friends away. Once again, I felt invisible and unimportant. When she shows up, everything revolves around her and no one talks to me anymore. And you know what? I don't need that. I really don't. So if I want to keep ONE PERSON just to myself, is that so horrible?
Call me a bad person. Call me a drama queen. Call me a bitch. I don't care. I just want to hold on to something for once and not lose it to a shinier new toy.

Oh happy day!

First and foremost: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MAJA!

Second: OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG! FIRST ROW FOR "KAUBOJI"!!!!! *flails* FIRST FUCKING ROW! I stretch my hand and I can touch the stage! Can't wait! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!1!!!

Third: My sister found a bottle of Deep Red by Hugo Boss under her bed! I missed that perfume so so much! I'm so happy we apparently have one left. Not that I don't like my current one, Gucci by Gucci (duh!), but this is DEEP RED!

Fourth: Tentacle rape. On TV. Last night. And I thought to myself: This is relevant to my interests. OK, I know that tentacle rape in manga is like... Dylan Dog meeting a vampire. Or Marten being afraid of Faye. Basically, nothing unusual. But after scenes from cartoons where various tentacles raped body orifices of different characters, there was a real naked man, positioned on his elbows and knees, and a naked woman who was rubbing his bare ass with an octopus, which was, I can only assume, dead.
Tentacle rape - if the octopus is dead, you're doing it wrong.
Next thing I know, someone will be suggesting to spank me with a carp.

If tomorrow never comes

I am without a doubt the most morbid person in my family. But sometimes, someone else gets aboard with it.

Sis: If I died, what would you dress me into?
Me: Something white-ish, you're still rather young.
Sis: Moooooooo-oom! Kristina doesn't love meeee!
Me (internally): LOL WUT?
Mom: Huh?
Sis: I asked her what she'd dress me into if I died and she immediately answered!
Me: Wait... what??
Sis: If I'd asked you, you would've gone crazy on me and started shouting "Don't talk like that!", and she just... answered.
Me: Oh. My. God. *inner headbang* You asked, okay? And it's not like I think about it all the time, I just said the first thing that came to mind.
Sis: Sometimes I think about me dying. The other day I was going to work and I was thinking about it, and I got really sad, I almost started crying. I think it would be really sad if I died, you know?
Me: It's a good thing you love yourself so much so it doesn't even matter if I love you or not. Jeez.
Mom: *looking at us incredulously*
Me: But come on, I'd be sad, too, probably.
Mom: Yeah, you love each other a lot, she'd probably kill herself.
Sis (looks at me): Nah, we don't love each other.
Me (looking at her): Yeah, we tolerate each other at best.
(everyone laughs)
Sis: I think it'd be easier for us if Dad died first.
Mom: *blink blink*
Me: Oh yeah, totally.
Mom: What do you mean?
Me: The three of us, we'd support each other, we'd stick together. If you died, Valentina would probably get married as soon as possible and move away, have her own life...
Mom (nodding):... Dad would drink all the time, and you'd...
In unison: ... kill self.
Me: Haha, yeah.
Sis: And what if she killed herself?
Me (bending over, laughing till tears start running): Oh God, this is priceless! In every scenario I end up killing myself! No one ever considers the possibility of me just... dying.
Sis (laughs): Haha, yeah.

Heh. A person tries to kill self once or twice and can never live it down.

Silver Lining

... to having my family home is that I get to witness convos like these:

Sister: You know, you really have something gay to you. You dance like a real faggot.
Her BF (mutters under breath): Faggot's gonna stick it to you.

And then I go and meet Nikolina and the first thing she says cuz she's awesome like that, God bless her, is: Are those Ipanemas?
Yes, yes they are! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Random Thoughts

It's weird how I'm absolutely sure my sister knows me better than I know myself. Maybe not everything I do, but knows me inside out, everything I am.
And I... I don't know her at all.

~~~~~
I have this entire life on the Internet, right? Places I visit regularly, people from all over the world I talk to every single day. A circle of friends completely detached from anyone I know in RL. And it hits me often: if I suddenly died, they wouldn't know. Maybe they'd wonder for a few days, two or three of them for a few weeks even, but there'd be no way of knowing for them.
I'm On The Outside, I'm Looking In...
Wanna see how the cat spends his time when you're not home?, my sister asks in a chipper voice.
Uhm... sure, I say a bit scared cuz me thinks it can't be good.
And she shows me this picture.
Yes, that is my cat crying his lungs out outside the window begging to be let in.
I let him in eventually, she adds.
Well aren't you an angel! No, wait. I guess you're not.
Bribe
Motherfucker! Fuck! Fuck! Fucking fuck!
I just got the Croatian version of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows to complete my collection. But isn't that something she wanted?, some of you might ask. Yes, dammit. That's why I'm so bloody angry. My sister bought it. One cannot take that book in one's hands and not smile. It's undoable. How do I hate her now? How?! Motherfucker.
And I was doing such a wonderful job of ignoring/hating her today. See, last night she had this huge scene with my mother, talking about this incident, crying crocodile tears, yelling about her sufferings and what not. I was in the living room during that time, acting like it had absolutely nothing to do with me. I said what I had to say and I was not going to discuss it any more. But then today my sister thought that we were OK because she talked to mother. And it wasn't, not from where I was standing. So she tried to crack a joke that I "didn't hear". A bit later she asked me to find her the episode of "Gilmore Girls" she had missed last week. I murmured "OK" and I did find it and started downloading it. So in the afternoon, as it was downloading, I turned the TV on to see Monty Python's "Holy Grail". Just as it was beginning, I saw MSN window popping up. Maja. Asking me about Geoffrey Chaucer. So I press PAUSE on the DVD and get to the computer to find her the link with the modern translation of it. And just then my sister comes in and throws tantrum because I can't be watching TV and at the computer at the same time because what would she do then. And I tell her I was downloading her "Gilmore Girls" and just replying to Maja about some Uni stuff and she starts yelling about pulling out the computer plug be-
(Took a pause to tie a bow on the new top she just bought and is trying on now and listen to this comment:
Are you braiding a braid or tying a bow? because I was apparently too slow. Can you say bitch?)
I lost a thought. Anyway, I turned the computer off and watched the movie. I also stopped downloading her show and wasn't gonna download it at all since she was such a bitch.
And then she bought me the book. And "Gilmore Girls" have downloaded. Goddammit! Motherfucker! Fuck! Fuck! Fucketty fuck!
Cinderella
I hate my sister. No, I really really hate her. She is such a conceited little bitch and I can't take it anymore.
We went shoe shopping today. As you can imagine, it didn't go too well.
Every time Her Highness and her bf take me to the city, I'm supposed to walk behind them humbly and keep my mouth shut so I don't, heaven forbid, upset the princess with something I might say. Just don't spread the nervous, she often says. I am also supposed to be eternally grateful for the shown grace of taking me with them. I am the ugly, poor sister, she is the pretty, rich one. I should take crumbs and be happy.
So today we were going to all these shoe stores and I found my shoes rather quickly. She found boots she liked but they didn't have her size so she went to another place of theirs but the boots were still too big and she got upset. And when I say upset, I mean fucking pissed off. When she's in that state, she needs a scape goat. Guess who volunteered to be one merely by being there.
We entered another store and she's frowning to the shoes and I know she won't find anything cuz she has her mind set on the pair that was too big and as she's flipping a boot in her hands she goes: I know I won't find another ones I like. It's how I am. And I say: Then let's go home., and she says with poison in her tone: YOU go home. You go home by bus.
And I did.
Technically, I took the train but I did leave. I've had it. Every time they would graciously take me with them she'd threaten me with going home by bus. I hate how she makes me feel small and irrelevant, how she humiliates me.
Well guess what, bitch. Not no more. This was the last time I've let you make me feel like a Cinderella. I may not have money, I may not have a boyfriend, but at least I have my pride so you can go and piss on someone else from now on. Bitch. I hate you.
And Cinderella's got new shoes.
My Cat
I obviously have nothing going on in my life right now with the exception of failing every goddamn exam I take so that's the reason I'm not posting anything. I try to study and that's pretty much it.
I have nothing to say so I'm just gonna introduce you to my cat instead. His name is Debeli (Fat) although he's anything but fat. See, when we got him we figured he'd grow up into a big fat slow-motioned tomcat. Unfortunately, he got poisoned or something and has been having problems breathing and stuff ever since, like sneezing and coughing all the time, and remained kinda weak and skinny. For a full grown cat, that is. He's 5 years old and is afraid of everything. Especially my sister but that's cuz she tends to scream at him for no reason when he falls asleep or she gets on Orbitrek and goes real fast so it would make a lot of noise to scare him or just hits the bed next to him when he sleeps so he'd jump up and runaway. Yes, she is evil like that and enjoys animal torture. And this is Debeli:
Sister And BF's Holiday Pictures
Isn't she the prettiest little thing? And aren't they a cute couple? They had a great time. And in case you were wondering: yes, that first picture is taken in the sea, not pool. That's how pretty our sea is.
Ha!
Weirdest thing happened...
I was checking the R+ forum and sis took a look and saw the topic bout Friday and said: "You're going to that." and I said: "I'm not, actually. She asked why not and I said: "Cuz you're all full of crap about it." and she went: "Whaat? Go!! You have to go!" lol So I might be going after all.
And yeah, she kept nagging about reading my blog and I kept refusing until she said "Oh just one page!" and I agreed and let her read this and this . And she went: "Awwww, that's so pretty!" for the first post and laughed at the second one. Oh yeah, I have some tricks up my sleeve too!
Then she said: "There's a code needed for the blog to be read?" and I said there was and she asked for it! Ahahahahahahahahaha! Yeah, right!
Saturday Blabber
Well the Saturday has arrived. Did you know I'm going out tonight? lol
I'm all shaven, smooth and skin-irritated. Expecting itching any minute now.
My sister bought herself an adorable dress, white with black dots, fits her insanely good. And what do I do? I make a stoopid mistake: stand next to her in front of the mirror. Picture it: a gorgeous, thin, great-boobed, long-straightened-haired girl and next to her... a rhino. But wait... What's that? Ah yes, it's my butt's satellite orbiting around it. What a confidence boost that was!
It's not her fault. Poor thing is lending me her top, her purse and is going to straighten my hair. So she's ridiculously pretty. And I'm not.
Stoopid gene pool.
Drinking it is.
